Ashgate Hospicecare provide specialist palliative and end of life care to the people of North Derbyshire. Their dedicated team help to improve the quality of patients\u2019 lives after receiving a terminal diagnosis, when every single day is so precious. The hospice supports patients\u2019 families, practically and emotionally, whilst they care for their loved one and following bereavement for as long as they need.<\/p>\n

After CRASH visited the hospice, it was clear that the current environment that the patients and families experienced in the cramped, shared bays were no longer fit for purpose. The overcrowding and lack of privacy was having a negative impact on the lives of the patients and their families.<\/p>\n

The CRASH Solution<\/h3>\n

CRASH channeled the professional knowledge and products of Patron companies; Arcadis, British Gypsum, Dulux Trade, Geberit and supporters to completely transform the busy ground floor three-bedded bays into beautiful, spacious individual bedrooms all with private access onto an external terrace. This has created nine individual rooms which offer patients privacy in a beautiful, modern and dignified environment.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

  • The value of professional expertise and construction products donated from CRASH Patrons and supporters came to\u00a0\u00a330,253 which according to the hospice could pay for a nurse for a whole year.<\/li>\n
  • CRASH awarded a \u00a330,000 cash grant bringing the total value of support to \u00a360,253.<\/li>\n <\/ul>\n<\/section>\n\n

    \u2018Our patients and their loved ones now have such a beautiful private space to spend precious time together. \u00a330,253 is an incredible saving and could pay for a nurse for a year. We cannot thank CRASH and their Patron companies enough for all their help on the project.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n
