{"id":15217,"date":"2025-07-02T16:28:29","date_gmt":"2025-07-02T15:28:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crash.org.uk\/?p=15217"},"modified":"2025-07-02T16:49:24","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T15:49:24","slug":"the-big-construction-diversity-challenge-a-celebration-of-teamwork-inclusion-and-industry-unity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crash.org.uk\/news\/the-big-construction-diversity-challenge-a-celebration-of-teamwork-inclusion-and-industry-unity\/","title":{"rendered":"The Big Construction Diversity Challenge: A Celebration of Teamwork, Inclusion and Industry Unity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"simple-text-box simple-text-box--one\" >\n    <div class=\"container\">\n        <div class=\"one\">\n            <p data-start=\"259\" data-end=\"582\">On Friday 27 June, companies from across the UK construction sector gathered at Newark Showground to take part in the Big Construction Diversity Challenge, an action-packed day dedicated to championing diversity, equality, and inclusion (EDI) in the industry through the power of teamwork and shared experience.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"584\" data-end=\"795\">CRASH was honoured to be named the Charity Partner for this year\u2019s event, which brought together professionals from every corner of the construction world to compete, collaborate, and celebrate difference.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"584\" data-end=\"795\">Delivered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblemedia.co.uk\/\">Nimble Media<\/a>, the Big Construction Diversity Challenge is the first of its kind in the sector, following successful editions in rail and logistics. The event saw teams engage in a variety of inclusive and entertaining challenges designed to break down barriers and build stronger, more diverse teams, from the high-energy Diversity Dance Off to the hilarious Golden Bungee Balls and the team-based Catwalk Challenge.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"584\" data-end=\"795\">The day began with a welcome from CRASH Chief Executive Trisha Pickersgill, followed by a keynote from Alex Greenhalgh, Client Development Manager at headline sponsor Morson Group. As part of the day\u2019s activities, CRASH hosted the \u2018Walk the Plank\u2019 challenge, a communication and trust-based task that showcased how people from different backgrounds and skillsets can work effectively together.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"584\" data-end=\"795\">A heartfelt thank you and congratulations to the incredible team representing our Corporate Patrons in support of CRASH. Your enthusiasm and commitment are truly appreciated. Special recognition goes to Andrew Nightingale from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.8build.com\/\">8build<\/a>; James Angliss and Megan Baston-Steele from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arcadis.com\/en\">Arcadis<\/a>; Sharon Turner and Natasha Balfour from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ngbailey.com\/\">NG Bailey<\/a>; and Ash Sood, Natasha Anwar, Klara Nagy, Joseph Roberts, and Cody Reeves from <a href=\"https:\/\/beale-law.com\/\">Beale &amp; Co<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2465\" data-end=\"2516\">CRASH also presented two of the day\u2019s top awards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"2519\" data-end=\"2654\">The CRASH Award: Presented to team \u2018Together\u2019 from AXIS Europe for exceptional teamwork in the \u2018Walk the Plank\u2019 challenge.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2657\" data-end=\"2858\">The Collaborative Teamwork Award: Presented to \u2018Diverse Heatwave\u2019 from Worcester BOSCH for their brilliant effort and encouragement in It\u2019s a Knockout &#8211; one of the day\u2019s standout events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3199\" data-end=\"3383\">The day was made possible thanks to the support of Morson Group (Headline Sponsor) and supporting organisations ABC&amp;D Magazine, CIPHE, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.matesinmind.org\/\">Mates in Mind<\/a>, PSB, BWF, TICA &amp; ACAD.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3385\" data-end=\"3650\">The high-scoring Team of the Year award went to \u2018BAMBassadors\u2019 from Royal BAM Group with a massive 229.5 points.
